Success Story of Beatrice Takyiwaah
Beatrice Takyiwah is a twenty eight (28) year old client of Sinapi Aba Trust. She lives in Sunyani and she is a seamstress. Beatrice heard about SAT through some successful beneficiaries in the market place in Sunyani where her business is located.
Beatrice joined SAT to benefit from its credit facility to grow her business and save towards her future and that of her family. According to Beatrice, she does not want her children to become school dropouts as she experienced and therefore wants to ensure she has accumulated enough savings to support her children when she brings forth and they are schooling. Beatrice dropped out of school at the primary level because her parents were constraint financially. She struggled a lot during her childhood days to make ends meet until her mother managed to get some funds to help her learn a trade (dress making).
When she first heard about SAT, she considered its intervention as a big opportunity, because she could make use of the loan funds to expand her business in order to secure a future for herself and her future family.
Beatrice and some other members in her group went through SAT preparatory programme successfully to qualify her for a loan. She took an initial loan amount of 200 Ghana Cedis. With this amount she stocked her shop with sewing accessories to retail to other dress makers and also to use some for her sewing business. Beatrice said this would not have been possible without the financial support from SAT. Beatrice took a second loan amount of 500 Ghana cedis after successfully paying off her first loan amount. She again invested the money in her business; she is currently able to buy in bulk and pay promptly.

This has given her the opportunity to negotiate with the suppliers and therefore able to buy her goods at a much cheaper price.
Beatrice admitted that the loan has been very helpful to her and with the current growth in her business she works from 7am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday and now makes twice the profit she was making before she took the loan.
“She is very grateful to SAT for being a dependable Partner when she had no help coming forth”.
